Bathhouse complex
2024 — Concept
Primorsky Krai, Russia
A bathhouse complex inspired by the local context is set on a hill overlooking the bay. A simple, rational volume gains expression through petal-like walls that appear to unfold from the building’s core. These elements shape a dynamic silhouette, accentuated by elevated parapets, reinforcing the building’s presence within the landscape. Responding to their surroundings, the “petals” transform into viewing platforms, bathing niches, or protective screens. The architecture extends beyond its own perimeter, dissolving into the terrain. The building is perceived not as a static object, but as a form shaped by wind — as if carved by monsoon currents.
